Getting around the Las Vegas venue map
The venues listed above fall into three loose clusters, and knowing which one you are heading to makes planning a night out far easier. The biggest group sits on or just off the Strip: T-Mobile Arena, Dolby Live at Park MGM, MGM Grand Garden Arena and The Colosseum at Caesars Palace are all close to Las Vegas Boulevard, so walking between hotels, dinner and the show is realistic. Distances on the Strip are longer than they look, though. A block between resorts can take fifteen minutes or more on foot, especially in summer heat, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
Strip and just off it
Allegiant Stadium lies west of the Strip across Interstate 15, and Sphere sits east of it near the Venetian. Both draw very large crowds, so expect busy roads, queues at rideshare pick-up zones and a slow exit after the final whistle or encore. Many visitors walk part of the way, use the Las Vegas Monorail where it is convenient, or simply wait out the first rush with a meal nearby.
Downtown and Summerlin
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is in Symphony Park, close to Downtown Las Vegas. It hosts touring Broadway productions, concerts and dance, and the atmosphere is calmer than a Strip arena. Las Vegas Ballpark is further out in Summerlin, in the west of the valley, and is home to minor league baseball. A car or a pre-booked ride is usually the most practical way to reach it.
Practical tips for any venue
- Check the venue's official website for the event's start time, bag policy and entry rules before you leave.
- Allow extra time for security screening at arenas and stadiums.
- Buy tickets only through official or reputable sellers, and be wary of offers that look too good to be true.
- Plan your ride home before the event ends, as late-night demand can push up waiting times.
