The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is one of the venues that defined the modern Las Vegas residency. It was purpose-built for a headline singer to stay in one room for a long run, and it has hosted major music residencies ever since.
Location
The Colosseum is at 3570 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109, inside Caesars Palace on the central Strip. The resort is large, so leave time to walk from the entrance or parking to the theater.
History
The Colosseum opened on March 25, 2003. It was built for Celine Dion's show A New Day... and seats about 4,100. Later residents include Elton John, Rod Stewart and Adele.
What kind of night to expect
With around 4,100 seats, the Colosseum is far smaller than an arena, which gives residency shows here a more focused feel. Productions are designed to run for many dates in the same room, so staging and sound are typically built around the space. If you are weighing up different residencies, our choosing a resident show guide explains what to consider, and seat maps explained helps you compare floor and upper-level seats.
Tickets

Visitor notes
- Check the venue's own site for schedules, bag policy and parking before you go.
- Allow extra time to find the theater inside the resort.
- In summer, plan walks on the Strip for the evening; the average July high is about 104.5 °F. Read beating the desert heat.
- For transport between resorts, see getting around the Strip.
