MGM Grand Garden Arena is one of the long-established big rooms of the Las Vegas Strip. Over three decades it has staged concerts, boxing superfights and award shows, and it remains a regular stop for major events.
Location
The arena is at 3799 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109, inside the MGM Grand resort at the south end of the Strip. The MGM Grand is also the southern terminus of the Las Vegas Monorail, which runs 3.9 miles north to the Sahara, which can help if you are staying further up the Strip.
History
The arena opened on December 31, 1993, with a Barbra Streisand concert. It has staged boxing superfights such as Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in 2015, and it hosted the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022, the first Grammys held in Las Vegas.
Events and seating
The program covers boxing, concerts and award shows, and each uses the floor differently. For a fight, the ring sits in the middle with seating all around; for a concert, the stage is often at one end. That means a section that is excellent for one event may be less good for another. Check the official seat plan for your specific event and read seat maps explained. Our arena concert tips cover what to bring and how to time your arrival.
Tickets
Helios Club is an independent journal: we do not sell or resell tickets, take no bookings and are not affiliated with this venue. Buy from the venue's own box office or the official ticketing outlet it names on its website, and read buying show tickets safely before you pay.
Visitor notes
- Check the venue's own site for schedules, bag policy and parking before you go.
- Give yourself time to cross the resort to the arena entrance.
- In the hot months, carry water and walk in the evening; see beating the desert heat.
- Read getting around the Strip for transport.
